CHARLES TAYLOR HOME
INTERIORS + FURNITURE
Commercial projects give designers an opportunity to really flex their creative muscles. It really is a chance to see what you can come up with, in relation to the brand. Staying true to the story the client is trying to tell is key. It is important to create the visual elements that carry the vision to the next level. Charles Taylor Home works to incorporate all the elements of a project into a cohesive production. Bringing together all of the people involved in seeing the project through to completion, from the builder to the PR people, is probably the most important part of keeping the vision protected. Communication is everything in a commercial project. We pride ourselves on keeping it all organized and moving in the right direction.
Some of our past clients include Nissan Design, W Hotel San Diego, The JohnTesar Restuarant Group (Knife, Spoon, Etc.), The Palomar Hotel, Osgood-O'Neil Salons, Mecox Gardens and Bar Smyth, to name a few.
Commercial Work

This is a view of the main dining room at the steakhouse Knife. It has an open kitchen design, this allows for customers to sit at the bar and have interaction with the chef.

A view of the very popular open kitchen seating, as seen from the community tables. Custom tiles matched with beautiful veneers make this an eye-pleasing space to have a meal.

While we wanted an open and spacious floor plan, we also needed a cozy spot for certain groups. The veneered booth area, with its raised floor, created a nice nook in the space.

When we first approached the project, the bar, main area and private dining were all in the open. We gave the bar area a private feel with the use of the faux bamboo rods and pony wall. Notice the different veneers on the ceiling, carried over from the main eating area.

This hotel has a great 60's look to its architecture, so we brought in the appropriate style of carpet and topped it off with redone period furniture.

Almost every piece of furniture in the lobby area was custom designed and built for the hotel. We wanted a collected look and feel to meet people when they walked through the front door to check in.

We had a the opportunity to build everything in this project. The bar stools, chairs and tables...some of the lighting pieces...it really was a fun experience for a creative team. We went with our interpretation of Greece meets modern for this delicious seafood eatery by Top Chef John Tesar.

Dark colored custom Klismos chairs stand out against a sea of blues and whites. The "puddled" floor treatment brings a mid-century design element to the room.

We like our chefs to have the opportunity to chat with the customers, so we have a small eat-at bar.
